SCHOLARSHIPS
Established in the mid-1980s, the new program awarded scholarships in the amount of $100.00; shortly thereafter increased to $500.00 and, currently awards are given out in the amount of $1000.00. Recently, the Alumni Association has established a separate fund for scholarships and our alumnus has been more than generous. It is our goal to further enhance this program with the thought of increasing the scholarships in the future. Your support is appreciated!
JUNE 2015 RECIPIENTS
This year the Barringer High School Alumni Association granted scholarships to eight recipients at our Awards ceremony held on June 8, 2015. In her remarks, President RoseAnn Gasparinetti said to the students: “The Alumni Association is very proud of each and every one of you. And all of you should be proud not only of your accomplishment but because you are graduating from Barringer, the first public high school in the city and state. It is a school steeped in history and tradition, from sports, music, politics, and fine arts. As outstanding graduates of the class of 2015, you will only add to Barringer’s luster. You have done well. We congratulate all of you and wish you success in college and your careers.”

FRANCIS K. ADDAE
GPA 3.910. Mr. Addae has been accepted at Penn State University and plans to pursue a career as a cardiothoracic surgeon. Mr. Addae was not able to attend the ceremony.
SCARLYN MOREL
GPA 3.964. Ms. Morel has been accepted at Montclair State University and plans to pursue a career in psychology.

GPA 3.655. Ms. Gonzalez has been accepted at Essex County College and plans to pursue a career as a lawyer.
FRANCHESKA SANTIAGO ROJAS
GPA 3.615. Ms. Rojas has been accepted at Montclair State University and plans to pursue a career in psychology.
PAT A. RESTAINO AWARD
For the second consecutive year, thanks in part to the generosity of the Class of 1959, an award in memory of Pat A. Restaino, in the amount of $500, was made to a student who excelled in the study of history/social science. This year the award went to:

GPA 3.664. Mr. Mensah has been accepted at Montclair State University and will major in business.
THE JOSEPH AND JOHN IANUZZI SCHOLARSHIP
The Trustees of the Joseph and John Iannuzzi Scholarship Fund, presented a check for $1000 to:
BRYAN GUZMAN
GPA 3.869. Mr. Guzman has been accepted at both Rutgers University and Montclair State University and plans to pursue a career in psychology.
DOMINICK & PHYLLIS FERRARA MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
For the third consecutive year, Dominick Ferrara, class of 1956, gave an award in memory of his wife, Phyllis Ferrara, class of 1959. The awards this year, in the amount of $250 each, went to:

GPA 3.092. Ms. Royal has been accepted at Montclair State University to pursue a career in business.
KWADASIA DAVIS
GPA 3.0. Kwadasia plans to attend college and study computer science.
